本篇論文主要探討Apoptosis-associated speck-like protein with CARD domain (ASC)
此蛋白質在epithelial cells中的動態情形
因為ASC在近年來對於innate immunity及apoptosis的調控有一定的角色
由於ASC本身具有兩個不同的功能區
在細胞中可能與許多蛋白質結合進而調控不同的function
所以這類的adaptive protein或許在細胞中有著其他的角色
