標題[求救] 有一題與KO mice有關的題目

我在做考古題的時候有一題想不出來
不知道板上各位有沒有什麼意見可以指教
麻煩了
題目:
Many genes are essential for embryonic development and in
adult stage. Gene targeting is a powerful method to study
the function of a gene by modifying the physical structure
of the gene such that its function is knocked out. How can the
function of an essential gene for embryonic development
be studied in an adult KO mice?
他是指要把老鼠養成homogenous genotype嗎?
