Ans: E
For C:
ERKs and other MAPKs require both Thr and Tyr phosphorylation for full
activity. (at Thr202/Tyr204 for human ERK1 and Thr185/Tyr187 for human
ERK2.)
NOT Ser/Thr.
For D:
In the nucleus, active ERK phosphorylates transcription factors and so
nuclear translocation of ERK is critical for gene expression.
