│ 讀書會主題： │
│ │
│ 主權國家體系和憲政民主是20世紀中葉第三世界民族 │
│ 自決，以來，逐步擴散和鞏固的基本國際體制。這個 │
│ 國際體制卻似乎充滿矛盾和困惑。不被主權國家體系 │
│ 承認的許多人民和文化、在強權軍事投射能力競爭夾 │
│ 縫中的扈從國家、無法在慘烈的國際資本積累競爭有 │
│ 喘息於地的窮國，這些人民和國家的民主，常常只能 │
│ 低度實現、或者極不穩定。 │

│ 個包含憲政民主的國際體制是否是導致民主在許多國家低度 │
│ 或無法穩定實現的外部原因？這個國際體制是否對許多人民 │
│ 、國家和文化有根本歧視？民主是否只能侷限在主權國家內 │
│ 部?民主是西方的嗎?我們能否從民主的諸多理論和實踐中， │
│ 思索當前國際體制的替代方案? │

│ 我們的主要關懷是民主，熟悉民主豐富的各種理解途徑， │
│ 並討論民主本身是否具有對外的排他性和競爭性。我們將 │
│ 閱讀盧梭、托克維爾、熊彼得、道爾、派特曼、派迪特、 │
│ 沃林、勒福爾(Lefort)、哈伯瑪斯、本哈比(Benhabib)、 │
│ 夏比洛(Shapiro)、傅柯、默夫(Mouffe)等人的民主理論 │
│ ，討論卡爾‧施密特(CarlSchmidt)對民主的批評及回應 │
│ ，也會閱讀非西方國家知識分子對民主的看法。 │
