│ │
│ 主权国家体系和宪政民主是20世纪中叶第三世界民族 │
│ 自决，以来，逐步扩散和巩固的基本国际体制。这个 │
│ 国际体制却似乎充满矛盾和困惑。不被主权国家体系 │
│ 承认的许多人民和文化、在强权军事投射能力竞争夹 │
│ 缝中的扈从国家、无法在惨烈的国际资本积累竞争有 │
│ 喘息於地的穷国，这些人民和国家的民主，常常只能 │
│ 低度实现、或者极不稳定。 │

│ 我们的主要关怀是民主，熟悉民主丰富的各种理解途径， │
│ 并讨论民主本身是否具有对外的排他性和竞争性。我们将 │
│ 阅读卢梭、托克维尔、熊彼得、道尔、派特曼、派迪特、 │
│ 沃林、勒福尔(Lefort)、哈伯玛斯、本哈比(Benhabib)、 │
│ 夏比洛(Shapiro)、傅柯、默夫(Mouffe)等人的民主理论 │
│ ，讨论卡尔‧施密特(CarlSchmidt)对民主的批评及回应 │
│ ，也会阅读非西方国家知识分子对民主的看法。 │
