Background: Shortly after Cosart starred in the 2011 Futures Game—he missed the 2010 contest with elbow tenderness—the Astros acquired him from the Phillies in the Hunter Pence deal. Promoted to Corpus Christi after the trade, he allowed one run or less in five of his seven Double-A starts. Scouting Report: Some scouts describe Cosart's delivery as max effort, while Houston prefers to call it energetic. All sides agree his quick arm and athleticism produce electric stuff.
