Suzuki's balance is off "by a hair," according to Mariners hitting
coach Jeff Pentland in explaining Ichiro's recent hitting slump, the Seattle
Times reports.
Recommendation:
In the past 12 games, Ichiro is 8-for-51 (.157) and he's
hitting just .242 since July 3. "His balance has been off by a hair,"
Pentland said. "So he's just not squaring up on the pitches. Even he needs to
hit the ball solid." Ichiro has been streaky in the second half, but that
shouldn't worry his owners. He'll find his swing soon enough.
