刪除掉回應的部分 只留下和補充我自己翻譯的版本;) ※ [本文轉錄自 Oasis 看板] 翻譯任何文體我個人比較注重「信」和「達」 希望能夠將「原本文字」忠實而貼切的轉譯 而不是加諸過多自己的渲染和聯想 (也就是讀者看到我的中文翻譯再對照英文原文可以很清楚知道為什麼我要這麼翻) 因為中文是個相較之下很迂迴很累贅很花俏的語言 我們很容易落入把原本簡單直接的英文翻譯成太過「漂亮」文飾的中文 另外一個盲點就是「上下文」必須要一起看的問題 有時候單句歌詞的意義必須仰賴前後一兩句的關聯銜接 才會得到正確而清楚的意思，「斷章取義」在翻譯上也是個常出現的謬誤 Mardy Bum by Arctic Monkeys Now then Mardy Bum I see your frown And it's like looking down the barrel of a gun And it goes off And out come all these words Oh there's a very pleasant side to you A side I much prefer 現在你又成了 Mardy Bum，像個孩子般胡鬧抱怨 看見你整個人皺著眉頭 就像往槍管裡頭看一樣 擦槍走火 然後發射出這些話 哦其實你有非常討人喜歡的一面啊 我喜愛得多，寧可見到的那一面 It's one that laughs and jokes around Remember cuddles in the kitchen Yeah, to get things off the ground And it was up, up and away Oh, but it's right hard to remember That on a day like today when you're all argumentative And you've got the face on 那一面總是開懷大笑，說著玩笑 還記得在廚房的抱抱 嗯，讓一切都重新開始 但那樣的光景似乎離我們好遠 而在你如此爭辯追究 板起臉孔的這一天 我更難記起曾經的美好 PS: "get off the ground" 查了英英字典指的是讓事情開始運作、成功 而這段歌詞的最後 3 句因為後面 "when" 子句的關係必須顛倒順序優先翻譯 Well now then Mardy Bum Oh I'm in trouble again, aren't I? I thought as much Cause you turned over there Pulling that silent disappointment face The one that I can't bear 好吧你這個 Mardy Bum 我又有麻煩了，是吧? 我想也是這樣 因為你在轉角出現 拉下那張沉默不語失望透頂的臉 那張我無法忍受的臉 Why can't we laugh and joke around Remember cuddles in the kitchen Yeah, to get things off the ground And it was up, up and away Oh, but it's right hard to remember That on a day like today when you're all argumentative And you've got the face on 為什麼我們不能就這樣開懷大笑，說著玩笑 還記得在廚房的抱抱 嗯，讓一切都重新開始 但那樣的光景似乎離我們好遠 而在你如此爭辯追究 板起臉孔的這一天 我更難記起曾經的美好 ----------------------------------------- 上面副歌參照前面的比較對照 特別注意的是 整首歌唱 3 次的副歌開頭好像是一般性的重複 可是仔細聽會發現 Turner 動了小手腳 讓整首歌漸進式的成為一種混雜著回憶和無奈的懇求，想望 第一遍 → it's one that laughs and jokes around 第二遍 → why can't we just laugh and joke around 第三遍 → so laugh and joke around (節奏變慢，語氣變沉重) Yeah I'm sorry I was late Well I missed the train And then the traffic was a state And I can't be arsed to carry on in this debate That reoccurs, oh when you say I don't care But of course I do, yeah I clearly do! 是啊抱歉我遲到了 我錯過了那班火車 而且路上交通簡直一團糟 我受不了繼續這樣的爭吵 一再發生， 噢特別當你說我不在乎 但是我當然在乎，很明顯我真的在乎! ---------------------------------------------- "can't be arsed" 意思接近 "can't be bothered" 指的是不想這麼麻煩花這麼多力氣 "that reoccurs" 是指這樣無謂瑣碎的爭吵一再發生 而男生表面上的不耐煩或者沉默被指責成不在乎 當然是很冤啦XD So laugh and joke around Remember cuddles in the kitchen Yeah, to get things off the ground And it was up, up and away Still it's right hard to remember That on a day like today when you're all argumentative And you've got the face on 所以就讓我們開懷大笑，說著玩笑吧 還記得在廚房的抱抱 嗯，讓一切都重新開始 但那樣的光景似乎離我們好遠 而在你如此爭辯追究 板起臉孔的這一天 我更難記起曾經的美好 Cheers!
