標題[電訪] Oxford physics phone interview

phone interview 時間: 2009/01/15 20:30 (Taiwan)
我申請的是 Oxford Physics 裡面的 Atomic and Laser Physics group，面試的是 Ian
Walmsley 教授。第一次打到我手機收訊不好，請教授改打家裡電話，結果還是一樣，
聲音一直很小聲。(因此很多問題都重複問了好幾次)
1. 為什麼對 Dphil 有興趣? 為什麼選擇量子資訊?
2. 你的研究經驗如何? 你如何研究 Kuramoto model? 你的貢獻是什麼?
3. 你對量子物理，電動力學，以及光學的了解到哪裡? 你怎麼理解它們?
4. 你到荷蘭 Utrecht Summer School 上什麼? 你學到什麼?
5. 你有哪些實驗物理的經驗?
6. 你知道雷射的原理嗎? (地獄的開始) 我們考慮一個原子在一個腔體裡面，如果有
emission 的話會怎樣呢? 如果一個原子放在一道光束下，他會有什麼行為呢?
光子射出來的路徑是什麼呢? 除了 stimulated 之外還有哪種呢? spontaneous
需要光嗎? 這之間還有提到 population inversion 和 cavity 的一些細節問題。
7. 非古典光學你知道多少? 跟雷射的關係是什麼?
8. 你覺得 Kuramoto model 和你之後想要做的東西有什麼關聯?
