Fiorentina stopper Tomas Ujfalusi is not for sale, declared the club's
sporting director Pantaleo Corvino.
The Czech international had been paired with Spanish side Sevilla in the past
few days, as rumours suggested they were ready to make a January bid for the
Viola man, who has long since been a target for Juande Ramos' side, but
Fiorentina seem determined to keep the 28-year-old at the Stadio Franchi.
「We are not negotiating for the player,」 said Corvino to the Spanish
newspaper Marca.
「He is not on sale in January and it will be very difficult to get him in
June,」 added the club official, ruling out a move during the upcoming winter
market, which will open next week.
Sevilla, who are the UEFA Cup holders and are currently top of La Liga, have
allegedly contacted the Viola outfit – although no information has been
released on the exact amount of the offer for the former Hamburg man, who is
contracted to Fiorentina until June 2008.
