Among the challenges the power train faces are the need withstand high voltages and currents (up to 650 V and 200 A) as well as the ability to function in harsh temperatures (-40 °C to 40 °C) and high humidity. Power devices (such as IGBTs or diodes) used in the powertrain can end up operating at more than 100 °C due to energy they are dissipating. Nevertheless, the powertrain has to work reliably even under these extreme conditions. 2. An oscilloscope will capture a finite amount of time on each trigger based on the amount of memory and the sampling rate. The FFT cannot "see" frequencies in the incoming signal that are below the inverse of the scope's time capture window. The lowest frequency that can be analyzed by the FFT is 1/[1/(sampling rate) X (memory depth)]. To see a suspect source in the FFT be sure to set the depth to capture enough samples. For example, if your switching supply operates at 33 kHz, you would need to capture 1/(33 kHz) or 30 microseconds of signal activity in order to see it in the FFT. 3. For phase alignment, the signals must have a constant relative phase at all instances in time, then coherence is a statistical property between signals. To achieve true phase-coherent measurements, a common local oscillator (LO) can be shared across source or analyzer channels so that all channels share the same phase properties.
