时态的定位功能很重
I was wondering/thinking
带有我「原本」在想在奇怪的意思
但现在此刻已经不奇怪不想了
比方在聚会场合中, 你你看见一个你原以为已经离场的人
会这样说: I thought you were gone.
却不能说: I think you were gone
因为你此刻明明眼睛看着他, 知道他没走.
I was thinking about... 我刚才在想(到) (但现在没在想了)
I have been thinking about... 我一直在想 (从先前到现在)
I am thinking about... 我此刻正在想
I think about ... all the time 无时无刻不在想
I thought about ... all the time 那段时间我无时无刻不在想
英文人下意识很受时态表达控制, 曾有一起有名案件
一名白人母亲谎报孩子被黑人抢走去不知去向
但她在哭诉时一再说 (大致如此):
I love"d" them so much. They "were" so adorable.
引起警方怀疑, 为什麽用过去式?
因为讲到死去的人才用过去式
你怎麽知道孩子已经死了
终於查出原来是她自己杀害了孩了
