The Unicorn
In the Glade of unknown depth,
Upon the Path of spiritual rite,
Beside the pines where faeries dwelt
Under the cleansing moonwell light.
For whom am I? By the Lady's smile be blessed,
Tramp the serenity at her delight.
Crystal clear is the running stream,
Enchanting the night with spells of peace;
Tranquil songs by the nightingales high,
Hypnosis weaves with golden fleece.
Alone in my quest, arduous to describe,
Yet what joy! I will deeply miss.
Though body is free in endless wander
But the heart is rooted firm and deep.
Mystic be my journey, if no cessation,
Fruitful it bears my heart shall reap.
May Autumn halt it's scythe and sword,
Spare all living, to endure no sigh and weep.
What am I? Many have told, but never have met
Wielding power in tales of past long lost .
Yet it changes me not, out of thy reach,
Fantasy fades under thick leaves and frost.
As I still stalk the unventured pasture,
Welcoming myself, enjoying as guest and host.
