There will be a season three of Gossip Girl, the CW recently announced with fanfare (what were they going to do, cancel it and bring back Reba?). In May, Schwartz and Savage will air the first episode of a still-unnamed spinoff, a prequel series based on the Eighties Hollywood adolescence of Serena's mother, Lily van der Woodsen (featuring ex-Brat Parker Andrew McCarthy).
