UBC requires that applicants achieve minimum GRE scores of: Subject (Physics) 850; Verbal 400; Quantitative 750; Analytical 600. Please arrange for the testing institution to send your scores directly to this office. Photocopies of GRE test results will NOT be accepted. Important Note regarding the GRE Examinations: GRE General Examinations are scheduled throughout the year but the GRE Physics Subject Examination is only scheduled in April and November. To ensure that you are able to submit a complete application, you must arrange to sit for the GRE Examinations PRIOR to applying for admission to our graduate program. Many international applications are disqualified because students have been unable to submit official GRE general and official GRE physics subject test scores. TOEFL As English is the language of instruction at UBC, international students who have studied in non-English speaking countries are required to demonstrate their proficiency in the English language. Students from English-speaking countries are exempted from this requirement (e.g. Great Britian, Australia, United Stated of America, to name a few). Official TOEFL test results, sent to this office by the testing institution, are required. Photocopies and examinee's copies of TOEFL test results will NOT be accepted. Please note that failure to submit an official TOEFL test score will disqualify your application. UBC requires that applicants achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 550.
