标题[英中] 请问这句怎麽翻比较正确

It is important to note that in many of the above mentioned cases, even
though the charges were brought against companies in the US and UK, the
corrupt activites that led to those charges actually occured in other
countries such as Brazil, Indonesia and Egypt.
以下是我目前的翻法：
请注意，虽然在许多上述提及之案例中，被提出指控之公司位於美国及英国，但
实际上导致这些指控的贪腐行为却发生在巴西、印尼及埃及等其他国家。
想请教版友，有关第二句的部分，翻成「这些公司是於美国及英国被提出指控」会
不会比较好？文意上好像不论 in the US and UK 是用来形容 charges were
brought against companies 或单纯形容 companies 都解释得通？毕竟要对某国的
公司提出指控，通常也必须到该国去？
想知道法律上一般会如何对这句话进行理解/翻译，非常感谢！
