This marked Lu's first win over a Top 10 player since upsetting Andy Murray in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The hard-court specialist is 10-11 in 16 tournaments this year, and has competed in all three Grand Slams thus far. In 2004, Lu became the first player from Chinese Taipei to break into the Top 100. Though he has been slow to move up the ranks since he turned pro in 2002, he recently jumped from No. 82 to No. 42 in just two weeks, proving that anything is possible.
