大家好，我是SK2 TOEFL实力养成班顾问Vivian. 今天要继续分析「上网购物如何帮助英文写作？」 上集文章在这里 https://webptt.com/cn.aspx?n=bbs/TOEFL_iBT/M.1560155608.A.A67.html 上一篇文章提到了作者如何在商品评论的开头就提出Thesis Statement. 按照英文写作逻辑，接下来会使用Reason和Examples来支持论点。 让我们继续看下去： WHAT’S WRONG WITH THEM “As much as I searched it seems most of them ignored some simple facts – one is that remote controls don’t all look like they did in the 1990’s, they are no longer big thick handheld devices. Many of them these days are tiny credit card style that absolutely get lost in the cavernous slots most remote holders have, in other words the slots are too tall and too deep. On the other hand a lot of remotes have unusual shapes these days, like Tivo for example that are substantially thicker than regular ones.” ... 这段说明其他商品瞎在哪里(Reasons)； 也可以看出英文写作的逻辑： 先用一句话(topic sentence)说出重点”ignore simple facts”， 再用细节补充说明是哪些facts：”they are no longer... many of them...”, 也用in other words说明cavernous这个生字”tall and deep” (又学到新字！)。 HOW DOES THIS ONE STACK UP "After looking at pages and pages of them I took a chance and ordered this one. ... It has one large slot in the back that can hold many, if not most, tablets and readers, and the front slots have a lip that is low enough to be able to put several card-size remotes in it without them being difficult to fish out when you need them. ... And the price is right." 作者在这一段说明他找到的商品如何可以解决上一段提到的问题”tall and deep”； 是不是很像写作时我们提醒同学的，随时都要紧扣着Reasons来写呢？ ...
