(Sentence simplification question)
题目是
The extreme seriousness of desertification results from the vast areas of land
and the tremendous numbers of people affected, as well as from the great diffi-
culty of reversing or even slowing the process.
书上给的答案是
Desertification is a significant problem because it is so hard to reverse and
affects large areas of land and great numbers of people.
就我的理解是...题目是说"沙漠化是...造成的"(...desertification results from...)
, 可是答案的意思应该是"沙漠化影响了..."(desertification...affects... and...)
所以我看不出来意思没有改变啊=.= 请前辈们赐教一下XD
