What better team to exemplify this than the San Antonio Spurs, who have been the symbol of athletic organizational success for nearly 20 years. As the Spurs dawn a new frontier, Kyle Anderson is expected to be a key piece to their future successes. He improved in every basic statistical category in season two, most notably in points (4.5), field goal percentage (46.8), three-point percentage (32.4), free throw percentage (74.7) and assists (1.6). 尽管Anderson的菜鸟球季跟第二个球季都没有让人跌破眼镜的表现，但对於22岁的他 还是有些值得期待的地方。他第二年时改善了他的每一项基本数据，成长得最多的是 得分的部分(4.5分)，另外投篮命中率有46.8、三分球命中率32.4、罚球命中率74.7， 还有1.6次助攻。 There is a certain dichotomy to Anderson’s game that doesn’t quite seem to find a balance. While he is naturally unselfish, he is also naturally unaggressive and it seems to get him into trouble sometimes. His highest percentage shooting comes from within 10 feet of the basket (52.5%) and second is he pull-up game (46.7%). Last season, Anderson’s highest percentage shots came after holding the ball for six seconds or more (55.6%). At times, it seems his slower style of play is mirrored in his inability to make split-second decisions. The difference is obvious on paper in and observing the guy in games. He just doesn’t want to shoot the three. The rest were catch and shoot three-point attempts, which suggests his ability to create a variety of shots is limited. On the flip side, 205 of his 258 two-point shots came with 1 or more dribbles. If Anderson can add to his long-range game, he will be a valid option for the Spurs’ offense going forward. 36次三分线出手里，只有三次有下过球而且也都没进。其他都是接球後的直接出手， 这多少也反映了他投篮的变化有限。另一方面，他258次的两分球有205是有运超过一 次球的。如果他能够多增加他外线的投篮的话，他会是马刺进攻端的一个选项。 On the defensive end, Anderson has become a solid defender. What he lacks in foot speed, he makes up for in court I.Q and length. Anderson is most successful when guarding 15ft or further from the basket. He forced offensive players from that distance to shoot 30.2 percent (5.5% lower than average) and defended the three-point line by forcing players into 25 percent shooting (9.0 % lower than average). 再来看他的防守端表现，Anderson长成了一个强悍的防守者。他缺乏速度，但他能用 篮球智商和手长来弥补这点。他在防守15尺外的球员时非常成功，他让对位的球员在 这样的距离命中率只有30.2%(比平均低了5.5%)，并且让三分线的出手命中率降到25% (比平均低了9.0%)。 The season was just a stepping-stone for a player who has the potential to become a significant role player in the NBA. The type of player that can be counted on to hit big shots, make meaningful plays, and do the little things that keep a successful machine running. Anderson gets a B minus letter grade for the year because he has so much more room to grow.
