I find the statement effective in part. While people have the responsibility to discuss and solve the problems, a university alone does not entitle to do so. On the contrary, some controversies may get worse and more complicated in the school. Admittedly, as a member of the global village, we need to pay attention to the important events around the world. The more we are concerned about them, the higher probabilities they can be solved. University students can be seen as the elites in the society and are capable of coming up with the solutions to the problems. Students coming from different countries are supposed to have a variety of viewpoints representing their own culture and thus valuable. By collecting these intelligent, some creative ideas seem to be more likely to emerge. When people coming from Iraq and the U.S. come together and talk about the invasion to Iraq, the discussion will deserve more value. However, a global university is neither a sufficient nor a necessary solution to the long lasting controversy issues in the world. As a highly-educated member, everyone should be concerned about the world events and devoted ourselves to them, even though they are far away from us. Nowadays, people in the world are more closely related to each other than ever. The fact that the presidential election has influences on any other countries in the world is the proof. That is why people in my country are also familiar about the election. As we know about globalization, it is not any particular group or school's duty to deal with these events, but that every individual should do so. Higher-educated people like us especially have to think about them, no matter which school we are in. In addition, a university support by all nations could lead to political conflicts. Countries with opposing political views will argue whether the conclusion of a issue is acceptable depending on whether it is favorable to them. Therefore, such a university can not reach a subjective consensus. What is worse, the dominant nation can take control over the discussion. When debating on the issue whether developed countries should financially support the undeveloped ones, the former may disagree out of their self interest, and then they may urge their students to propose opposing ideas. In sum, a global university may help to some extent let more people know and discuss the social problems. The way I see it, it is everyone's duty, instead of some particulars'. --
