Q. I just read that you are helping in a very good action. Can you explain
about this?
IVAN LJUBICIC: Which action?
Q. The help to the people that are in trouble in immigration problems?
IVAN LJUBICIC: Well, that's one of the things. I try to help anyone that I
can help. I'm trying to find the foundation that helps kids, as well. So this
is one of the things that I'm doing, and I think we all should do when we
have time to help. I'm doing a lot, actually, these days whenever I have the
chance.
Q. But the main one I suppose is because you have had the experience? You
were able to leave your country to go to Italy.
IVAN LJUBICIC: I'm not thinking I'm trying to help unprivileged people. I'm
not thinking what I did. I'm just thinking there are people who need help,
and I'm the one who maybe can help them. I'm using that opportunity.
Q. Does it help you in a way to feel better for your tennis?
IVAN LJUBICIC: No, I don't think it has an effect on my tennis, but I just
feel better that I do a little bit for these people who need help. That's it.
Q. Tough match today. Volandri coming up next. A whole bevy of stars waiting
out there on your half of the draw. Could this be one of the toughest Grand
Slam draws you've ever had?
IVAN LJUBICIC: Could be. Could be. It's not easy, but Grand Slam is a Grand
Slam. And many times I had a good draw and I didn't make it, so it doesn't
matter. I just look forward for the next opponent. It's Volandri. He is
having a day more of rest. So it's definitely a little advantage for him. But
we'll see how it's going to be tomorrow.
Q. No breathers, though, along the way in the first week.
IVAN LJUBICIC: No, because I never had a day off, actually so far. I was
scheduled for Sunday to play a little bit on Monday, played a little bit on
Tuesday. Scheduled for Wednesday, didn't play. Played today. So tomorrow
again. So it's been a busy week. Very busy week.
Q. An ATP political question for you. Based on your recent conversations with
Mr. de Villiers and others, do you have a pretty strong feeling about what's
going to happen to Monte Carlo?
IVAN LJUBICIC: No, I don't know what's going to happen. It is still in the
air. The board still has to make a decision which Masters Series is going to
be there. So this is absolutely unclear whatsoever at the moment what's going
to happen. But I think at Wimbledon, we're going to make some decisions.
Q. Do you sense any change in attitude at the top of the ATP on this issue?
IVAN LJUBICIC: Not lately. I think it was a turnaround after Monte Carlo,
during the tournament when WTA came down and met with Roger, Rafa, and
myself, and Carlos Moya was there as well. That was, I felt like that was a
change there. We slowed down the process a little bit, but not much is done,
honestly.
