Crew chief John Hirschbeck, who was working third base
"It's got to be over that chain- link fence," Hirschbeck said. "And Mike ruled
the fan had reached below that fence. So had the fan not touched the ball, he
felt the ball would've struck the fence and still been in play."

Heroes - including a fan - help the playoff chase
节录:
Did we miss anybody?
Oh, yeah, the teacher in the right-field seats.
On a night when nearly 20,000 seats were empty, the Phils actually received
great fan support, especially from 24-year-old Ryan White of Fort Washington.
...
White's brush with fame - they might call it infamy in Colorado - came in the
fourth inning. The Phils were up, 1-0, but the Rockies were threatening with
the bases loaded and Yorvit Torrealba at the plate.
Torrealba drove a Lohse pitch to right field.
It cleared the wall and bounced
off White's waiting hands. White played the part of J.R. Reed and dropped the
ball, but
this was a good drop.
The ball fell back to the field and first-base umpire Mike DiMuro ruled it a
fan-interference double, which allowed only two runs to score.
Had White caught the ball, or not deflected it back onto the field,
there's a good chance it would have been ruled a grand slam and the Phils
would have been down by 4-1 instead of 2-1.
Replays appeared to show that White made contact with the ball above the
wall, meaning it should have been a grand slam. White, himself, said it
should have been a grand slam.
"It was a home run, definitely," he said.
White was happy the umpires made the ruling they did.
简单的翻译一下,就是费城的报纸都认为那球明显在全垒打墙之上
它应该是支全垒打,然後这球迷对於裁判因为他们做的事情这麽判很爽
