yes, if a travelling light wave is incidenting to the surface of a medium
with a spatially periodic refractive index disribution (e.g. a grating).
Due to phase matching condition (in physics, it is a momentum consevation
among the incident light, reflected light and the grating period), you can
measure reflected light at different angles and intensities. In terms of
Bragg regime, we can say the reflected light operates in different orders.
