[徵才]Two PhD RA positions available at Penn State Univ (Fall 2020) Two Graduate Research Assistant (RA) positions are available in Dr. Xing Wang 's lab in the Ken and Mary Alice Lindquist Department of Nuclear Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. The research in Xing's lab focuses on radiation-material interactions, materials for Gen IV nuclear reactors, microscopy analysis and multiscale simulations. The goal is to understand the material behaviors under extreme conditions and facilitate the materials development for advanced nuclear power applications. More information can be found at https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Xing_Wang23 Potential research topics for the incoming Ph.D. RAs include - Multiscale modelling of long-term material behaviors in nuclear reactors - Investigation of radiation-induced defects by combining atomistic simulations and microscopy analysis (scanning transmission electron microscope, atom probe tomography, etc.) - Characterization of material degradation process using in situ TEM - Automatic defect analysis based on high-throughput calculations and machine learning Students with background in Nuclear Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Physics/Computational Sciences are highly encouraged to apply. About the Principal Investigator: Xing Wang received his B.S. degree in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua University in 2011, and his Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016.
