It is true that you have to think about everything before you make a big investment such as doing a PhD. There are many people thinking of this. (If you go to 'studyabroad' board, you will meet some of them.) You might be surprised that some of them are poor like you and me. Nobody says only rich people can do PhD; however, if you are not much richer than the tuition fee and the living cost, you do have to think about it before you attend one. The only rule governing the time is everybody has a solid 24 hours per day. Some people set a constant time for studies and for part-time work but sleep less or play less, some do the other way. This is a bloody undergraduate problem! Go to the 'time management' board. Ask your question, they will kindly tell your how. This is not a thing to be argued here. Should you make it clear? Are you going to ask free money for postgraduates at some specific universities or all of them? --
