几则外电 Paul Wants To Stay With Hornets—If They Want To Win Chris Paul is open to a trade if the Hornets aren’t focused on winning an NBA title, ESPN.com reports. "My first choice is to be in New Orleans," Paul told the website. "I just want to make sure we’re committed to winning. If we’re not committed to winning and trying to get better so we can contend with the Lakers, the Celtics and all these other top teams, then I’m open to being traded." Paul made the statement among reports that multiple teams have expressed interested in him. Hornets general manager Jeff Bower says he’s received many calls about possible trades but declined to specify which teams inquired. Bower says he considers every offer, but also says the Hornets place a high value on what Paul brings to their franchise and the community. New Hornets coach Monty Williams says Chris Paul was "the main thing" that excited him about taking the job and that he could not envision entering next season without the three-time All-Star. The proposed sale of the Hornets from George Shinn to Gary Chouest is being help up for financial reasons. If the sale doesn’t go through, then New Orleans might have to deal Paul and the $50 million he’s owed over the next three years. "If George Shinn can’t sell the team, I think Chris Paul will be traded," an Eastern Conference executive told ESPN.com. "Shinn’s strapped for money. He’s going to have to move him." AOL FanHouse's Tim Povtak, a former Magic beat writer for the Sentinel, reported earlier in the day that the Magic offered guards Jameer Nelson and Vince Carter for Paul and forward James Posey during preliminary talks. FanHouse’s Sam Amick reported Tuesday morning that the Magic were among teams expressing interest in Paul. New Orleans executives have said Paul isn't available. Smith also told the Sentinel that he’s not close to making any trades, and that he plans to hold onto the 29th overall pick in Thursday’s draft.
