Orlando Magic shooting guard Vince Carter will not hear the boos today
against his former team, the Toronto Raptors, because of a sprained ankle.
Carter tested the ankle before the game against the Raptors on Toronto's
practice court but couldn't move from side to side.
"We will not have him. He tried to go. He can go straight ahead," Coach Stan
Van Gundy said.
Mickael Pietrus was sent home to Orlando this morning with flu-like symptoms.
The NBA's protocol for the worldwide outbreak of swine flu calls for teams to
isolate players suspected of having symptoms.
Matt Barnes will start for Pietrus.
Although it was first thought that Pietrus would miss the rest of the
three-game road trip, Van Gundy said there was a chance Pietrus flying to
meet the team in Auburn Hills, Michigan, for Tuesday's game against the
Detroit Pistons.
"If he's feeling better tomorrow, we'll fly him to Detroit," Van Gundy said.
"We couldn't have him on the team plane [to Auburn Hills]."
