With guard Allen Iverson sidelined with a sprained right ankle, the Nuggets
lost 100-91 to Portland on Wednesday night at the Rose Garden. It was the
fourth straight loss by Denver, which before that had won five in a row.

The Nuggets (22-21) saw their much-maligned defense improve. But offense was a
problem as the Trail Blazers were able to key on forward Carmelo Anthony, who
scored 33 points but shot only 11-of-25.

his fourth foul early in the third quarter.

short-handed, guys try to do too much."

Still, the Nuggets were within 91-88 after Camby made a putback shot with 51.9

Iverson did not make the trip after being hurt Monday against Charlotte.
Nuggets athletic trainer Jim Gillen said Iverson was "feeling better"
Wednesday,but stopped short of speculating on his chances of playing Friday at
home against Portland. Karl doesn't know if Iverson will return then, saying,
"It was sore the other day."

With or without top players, the Nuggets have been equal opportunity losers
when it comes to facing teams below .500. They've lost 11 games to teams that
currently have losing records.

ETC.: Although he wasn't selected for the Rookie Challenge, Nuggets rookie
Yakhouba Diawara still wants to attend All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas as a fan
to see what it's all about. . . . Smith started after coming off the bench for
eight straight games. "It felt pretty good to be back in the starting lineup,
but I would rather Allen be healthy." Smith said. As for being a reserve, he
said before the game he's "getting more shot opportunities off the bench. It's
really a win-win situation."
後记:虽然D蛙没被选入新秀挑战赛,但是他仍然想要参加明星周-以球迷的身分.老二在当
了八场替补後回到先发,他说"我对於回到先发感觉相当不错,但是我更希望AI能保持健康"
至於当替补呢?老二说当他打替补时他能有更多的投篮机会,那是一个双赢的局面
