No specific date has been set yet for Strasburg's debut, but the Pirates play the Nationals on June 8-10. The Nats plan to make an official announcement five or six days before his first start. There still are any number of variables that could cause a change in the Nationals' plans, which is why the team has been cautious about committing to a date. In the fall, Strasburg had two TV starts scratched in the Arizona Fall League because of minor neck and knee injuries. Strasburg, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, has been dominant in the Minors thus far, going 6-1 with a 0.99 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings for Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Syracuse.
