Posada was placed on the disabled list Tuesday and some New York-based reporters gave him a 2-3 week timetable. Those estimates were a bit premature, it seems. Posada has a Grade 2 strain and can barely lift his leg without feeling discomfort. Damaso Marte R D.L. May 3 shoulder Return mid-May Latest News: Yankees placed LHP Damaso Marte on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 26, with left shoulder tendinitis. Marte looks like one of the smartest people in major league baseball after taking a three-year, $12 million deal from the Yankees very early on last winter. Similar talents settled for one-year deals, and while they could do better back on the market this winter, it's doubtful that a one-year contract would have worked out well for Marte. To recap: steroids evil, plasma good. Takashi Saito reportedly received similar treatments last year. "If Saito was able to come back as a pitcher, that is a good sign for me," Nady said.
