For the first time since 1993, the Yankees will have all of October to think
about their future.

His media-relations skills need work as well. Girardi's insistence at putting
a positive spin on everything has reduced his credibility. It has gotten to a
point where many columnists routinely skip his media sessions, knowing he
will say nothing of value. That's a bad sign
吉拉迪需要加强跟媒体间的关系，但他坚持对於事情一直保持着乐观的态度已经影响到
他的信用了。甚至许多专栏作家习惯性的跳过他的采访，因为他们料到吉总要说的话毫

But Girardi is too bright not to learn from his errors. He'll be a better
manager in 2009.
吉拉迪乐观到无法从错误中学习。在2009，他会是个更好的经理。
General manager Brian Cashman has become a polarizing figure. Some Yankee
fans have complete faith in his plans to rebuild the team. Others think he's
the reason the team is in this mess in the first place. Cashman's contract is
up at the end of the season and you can argue for or against his returning
and make a good case.
现金人已成为一个极端的人物，一些洋基粉丝对他有满满的信心来重建洋基，但其他人

Cashman would be an attractive candidate to become the GM of the Phillies or
Nationals. The NL East is wide open and a smart team could win for a lot of
years. But expect him to stay. His family has roots in the Northeast and he's
emotionally tied to the team.
现金人将会是费城人队或者国民队的总经理热门人选，国联东区大开其门，且一支聪明
的球队能维持数年的好成绩。但定居在东北方的家人希望他能够留下来，家人是他重要
的精神支柱。
The Yankees should insist that Cashman hire a New York-based assistant GM
with hands-on experience, a next-generation Stick Michael. The Yankees need
somebody who wouldn't be afraid to tell the GM that signing the likes of Kei
Igawa is a bad idea. The Yankees need a bad cop in the room.
洋基应该坚持现金人录用一个纽约为主，并有实战经验的总经理助理，像Stick Michael
第二代！洋基需要有人勇於向总经理发声：就像跟宅男那种人签约跟本是个天大的笑话…
洋基需要一个扮黑脸的人。 (￣皿￣；)：在3A也中枪。
