Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will miss at least another week as
he continues to receive treatment on his strained left groin.
湖人球星因为拉伤左腹股沟肌肉，至少还要缺席一周，并持续接受治疗中。
He will be re-evaluated in one week, the team said in a news release, meaning
James will miss Friday’s home game against the New York Knicks, road games
at Minnesota on Sunday and at Dallas on Monday (he will not travel with the
team on that road trip) and a home game against Detroit on Wednesday.

James, 34, has been remarkably healthy throughout his career. It’s an
attribute almost as impressive as his strength, quickness, scoring, passing
and basketball IQ. In 15-plus seasons, he has played in 94% of possible games
and has never missed a playoff game. Last season, he played in all 82 games
for the first time in his career.

He has been bothered by minor injuries from time to time and a bad back
sidelined him for two weeks in 2014-15. Since then, James has not missed
consecutive games with an injury until now.

James’ injury is costing the Lakers in the standings. With him, the Lakers

Headed into Friday’s game, they are in eighth place and five games behind

the fifth-place Portland Trail Blazers.

The Lakers said James was day-to-day when they announced the results of the
MRI on Dec. 26. There was some expectation that he would miss a few games. At
the same time, James does not want to rush back and turn the groin injury
into a lingering problem.

“We got to get him healthy," Lakers coach Luke Walton told reporters on
Friday. "We talk all year. We need everyone on our team. You don’t want
anyone to get hurt. That’s how the NBA season plays out. We’re down in
bodies. It’s going to be a challenge, but our guys should be excited for
that."
