Boozer's reward for backstabbing Cleveland was disappointment in Athens, an off year on a bad team, a public calling-out from Jerry Sloan at midseason, and a season-ending injury. 难道这叫做报应吗？ Boozer对骑士队做的坏事的报应，就是他在雅典奥运鸟掉 ，然後隔年到了一个鸟球队，被 Sloan公开喊话，还有最後整季报销的受伤。 In between Boozer struggled to adjust to a more prominent offensive role. Boozer's game in Cleveland was as a high-percentage finisher who thrived away from the ball, getting many of his points on put-backs and dishes from teammates. His post repertoire is fairly limited, with a turnaround over his right shoulder being a primary weapon. He's much better from the high post, where he loves to drive left. Nonetheless, his season was a letdown for a couple of reasons. First, he failed to build on the promise of his dynamite first two seasons in the league and his Rebound Rate withered considerably. Additionally, Boozer's defense was a huge disappointment. He is neither tall nor terribly athletic for his position, so he struggles to challenge shots by opposing post players and blocked less than half a shot per game. Brown hasn't played a lot of minutes, but he's been an underrated sub in his three years in San Antonio because he defends well, plays two positions, and can hit an open shot. He rarely scores and is a terrible rebounder for his size, but he makes his living at the defensive end. Collins is a solid defender who specializes in taking charges, although he's not quite on a par with his brother in this realm. Unlike his brother, this Collins hasn't lucked into a starting job yet. With Okur, Boozer, and a re-acquired Ostertag in line ahead of him for minutes, his luck doesn't figure to change any time soon, but that may be for the best. In a limited role, Collins' abysmal offensive output isn't quite so glaring, and his defense provides a lift on a team short of defenders. Giricek is a decent shooter, but is much more comfortable from middle ranges than shooting the long ball. Giricek shot 36.2 percent on 3-pointers but attempted only one per game because his instinct is to shoot off the dribble going to his right. He was never a speedster, but his inability to stay in front of quick forwards reached epic proportions last season as Harpring posted the worst Defensive PER in basketball. Harpring is probably better off at power forward, even though he's a couple of inches short. His strength and physical play are a better fit there, and he can hold his own against power forwards under the boards. He was billed as a high-scoring forward but instead posted the worst TS% among all small forwards. Humphries was incredibly ambitious, constantly seeking to score when he caught the ball in the high post but mostly floating off-the-dribble jumpers that barely grazed the rim. He managed to draw fouls at a high rate, but even that worked out badly since Humphries is an atrocious foul shooter -- he made only 43.6 percent last season. If he had shot the league average, his TS% would have increased nearly five percent. He's a tweener who isn't quick enough to play small forward and has to work on building the strength to play power forward. Humphries' biggest shortcoming was in help defense, a responsibility he often abdicated. He at least held his own on the boards. Kirilenko hasn't captured the fancy of legions of fans because he isn't a high-volume scorer nor a great outside shooter. He's just very effective at taking advantage of his chances. Kirilenko's height and length allow him to finish in traffic and dunk over taller players. He's also fast, enabling him to get baskets in transition, and moves well without the ball to put himself in position for easy shots. His Assist Ratio wasn't anything special two years ago but last season was among the top five at his position. He nearly led the team in steals despite playing only 41 games. Overall, Utah gave up 8.3 more points per 48 minutes when he was off the court. Harpring's muscle can protect Kirilenko from strength match-ups, while Kirilenko's quickness can save Harpring from guarding speedy small forwards. Regardless of how the Jazz line up, Kirilenko will be the centerpiece. His low-volume, high-percentage offense makes him unusual for an NBA superstar, but make no mistake: This is one of the ten best players in the league. McLeod wasn't quite the defensive sieve that Arroyo and Lopez were, nor quite the offensive disaster that Eisley was, so Jerry Sloan settled on him. He thrived offensively in Utah's motion offense, getting numerous catches near the basket to set up free-throws or turnaround jumpers in the paint. He especially likes to shoot the turnaround from the left block after faking toward the baseline. As a result of the easy shots, he scored at a very high rate for a center and did so with a good TS% as well. Okur also shoots well from outside and is extremely effective both passing and shooting from the high post. The major reason was defense. Okur tended to casually jog back on defense and wasn't a good fit for the physical defensive tactics that Sloan prefers. He's not a shot-blocker nor is he terribly strong, so even when he played hard his defensive contribution was fairly limited. It's now clear that Ostertag's 2003-04 season was a fluke, and that he should be evaluated based on the years before and after. Ostertag's Usage Rate is ghastly because he has trouble catching passes cleanly and going up quickly for a shot. Hence, even when he's left open he's sometimes unable to convert it into two points. Additionally, his shooting percentages are sinking faster than Atlantis. Last season Ostertag suffered a complete meltdown at the free-throw line, shooting a horrific 34.2 percent. The projections suspect that he will bounce back from last season and play more like the player he was in 2002-03, in which case he'll be a useful asset off the bench for Jerry Sloan.
