It is easy to prove that sin x ≦ |x|
then f(x)=e^(-x^2)*sin(0.5x)≦g(x)
where
g(x)=e^(-x^2)*|x|/2
g'=(-x^2+1/2)e^(-x^2) for x≧0
=(x^2-1/2)e^(-x^2) for x<0
max g occurs at ±1/√2
[g(±1/√2)]^2=1/(8e)<1/17
