话说Cliff Lee来到费城後
全队薪资将暴涨165M~170M左右，想当然费城会想减轻点负担
首当其冲的就是Joe Blanton (据传费城也想送走Raul Ibanez和Kyle Kendrick)
Blanton在年初签下了24M/3Y的合约
目前还剩下约17M的价值，若顺利送走他将可省下不少钱
也因此在Lee的归处定案後就传出不少Blanton将被交易的传闻
Blanton今年因伤曾缺席一段时间 成绩是9W-6L 4.82ERA ERA+则是84
最先是传出
红袜队向费城人打探Blanton
但随後这消息就被打脸了

No deal yet in place for Blanton
It's uncertain at this point whether the Red Sox actually want Blanton or
were just talking about possibilities. But as of right now, they have not
made a trade for him.
It is conceivable that the Red Sox could have tried to help Philadelphia sign
Lee (keeping him away from the Yankees and the Rangers) by taking Blanton off
their hands.
But according to our sources,
there is no deal as of right now and one was
never in place.
