I'm sorry I can't help you either with your LaTeX problem or with your follow-up setting issue (since I don't use google groups for posting, and don't know about a good english or german FAQ), but I permit myself to place a follow-up to comp.text.tex, which seems to me the appropriate group for talking about TeX in english.
