Elton Brand said Monday that he is going to opt out of the final year of his deal with the Clippers. "We're opting out," Brand said. "It definitely doesn't mean I'm leaving the Clippers. We're trying to work it out. My intention is to stay." Brand was due $16.4 million in the last year of his contract. A sign-and-trade is a possibility here, with the Heat expected to inquire, but there's no team with nearly enough cap room to match an offer from the Clippers this summer.
