"Predictably, Carmelo Anthony refuted Sunday's report he told Nuggets brass
he only wants to be traded to the Knicks, ruling out the possibility of a
Nets' deal or re-signing.
"No, I haven't talked to [Denver general manager] Masai [Ujiri] about who I
would sign with and who I want to sign with," Melo said the day after being
serenaded at the Garden during the Nuggets' 129-125 loss to the Knicks. "I've
never had that conversation.
"My options are open," Anthony added. "That doesn't mean I'm not [going to
re-sign]. That doesn't mean I am."
Former Knicks great Willie Naulls, who lives in Laguna Beach, Calif., has
accepted an invitation to watch his former club face the Lakers on Jan. 9.
And to meet Amar'e Stoudemire.
Naulls sounds more excited to meet Amar'e than see the Lake Show. On Sunday,
Stoudemire smashed Naulls' 1962 record as he posted his eighth straight
30-point outing.
"God bless him," Naulls told The Post yesterday. "He's a great athlete. I was
shocked. I was surprised it wasn't broken before with all the great Knicks
they've had. I'm surprised it stayed so long."
