Jermaine Jenas admits he's not the best watcher of games when he's injured - missing the quickfire double-header against his former club Newcastle has made him all the more determined to return as soon as possible. The England midfielder has been out since damaging his ankle in the derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on December 2. He has started running again in his rehabilitation process and said at Spurs Lodge on Tuesday that 'hopefully it won't be too much longer'. "I've started long-distance running and running side-to-side, the short, sharp movements, twisting and turning," said JJ. "I started that at a low intensity on Saturday, tried again on Tuesday and it's feeling a lot better." JJ has missed 10 games so far including our continued progress in the Carling, UEFA and now FA Cups and, perhaps more importantly on a personal level, the clash against Newcastle at St James' Park on December 23 and the return fixture this Sunday at the Lane. "I was looking forward to the game at Newcastle from the start of the season but an injury comes along and it's something you can't control," he added. "I'll miss it again on Sunday and that's one of the things I've had to deal with. "It's not been easy, I go to the matches but I'm not a great watcher of games when I'm out, full-stop. "It's been great to see the lads pick up points in the league and continue to do well in the cups and I'm eager to get back involved again.
