Jenas, who will line up against West Ham at White Hart Lane on Sunday, has often been selected for a wide right berth by Martin Jol, as the Dutchman bids to find a winning combination in midfield. It is not a position Jenas favours, however, and the former Nottingham Forest and Newcastle man now hopes to press his claims for a more integral role against The Hammers. "The fact is I am more effective in central midfield and, after my performance against Besiktas, I hope to stay there," said Jenas. "I was prepared to play out of position wide on the right while Aaron Lennon was out injured - just as Steven Gerrard does for Liverpool - because I thought, 'If Stevie is going through it, then so can I'. "But I prefer the centre of midfield, and that's where I want to be." Jenas's team-mate Emil Hallfredsson is considering his future after failing to make the breakthrough at White Hart Lane. The 22-year-old is currently on a season-long loan with Malmo.
