In a few hours time I’ll again be on a flight heading for new adventures, and I’m taking this time to write you as I wait. You can imagine how these last weeks concluded in a very emotional way for me, I would say even these last months were rich in emotions. I arrived to Paris once more with this enormous desire to keep going until the end of my dream. However, I had ever present doubts, but I lived each day intensely. I built my victory match after match. As you may have noted, my first week was difficult in spite of two set victories. But you know me well enough to understand that it was not my ideal circumstances. Once the second week of the major began, it felt as if a new tournament started for me. I could finally express myself freely on court and give my all. I had seldom felt as happy and serene on a tennis court than at the time of my last three matches in Paris. You can understand my happiness to once again have my family at my side. I wanted so much to offer them this victory, and it’s this feeling which gave me the force to go until the end. You seen the expression on my face; this victory was special. To be able and look towards my family after match point constituted one of the most beautiful moments of my career, and my life! I know from now nothing will ever be the same, and I finally feel at peace. I am also very happy to again be able to give excitement to people around the world - particulary in Belgium. This adventure also belongs to you. Thank you for sharing it with me so intensely. It’s almost that hour once again for me to hit the road after a few days of rest. I enjoyed my victory with loved ones, but I’m in a rush to search for my grass form. I hope to take as much pleasure these next weeks to reunite with a surface since I didn’t get that opportunity for rediscovery in the start of the season (at Australia).
