impressed 在 M-W 里有
:gain the admiration or interest of
而compliment 的本意就是 admiration remark
而 contrite 在 M-W里
feeling or showing sorrow and remorse for a sin or shortcoming
remorse 就是 regret
而 apologize
an admission of error or discourtesy accompanied by
an expression of regret
这样看起来就比较不牵强一点了
