Cuddyer hadn't played since sustaining a broken shoulder in early June, so the returns, even for Rookie League ball, were promising in his first game. He'll spend a week with the club before taking his rehab assignment to Double-A Tulsa, and a mid-August return seems plausible. Carlos Gonzalez (knee) will visit Dr. Thomas Hackett on Wednesday. Advice: The Rockies are hoping that Dr. Hackett will recommend a treatment that will help the chronic tendinitis in Gonzalez's left knee. Platelet-rich plasma injections and/or stem-cell therapy are options, but they would likely end CarGo's season. It's possible rest and rehab will be recommended, which would allow the outfielder to return this year. Troy Tulowitzki (hip) will visit orthopedic surgeon Dr. Marc Philippon on Wednesday. Advice: Tulowitzki has been on the shelf since July 19 with a strained left hip flexor, but the Rockies suspect there could be an issue with his labrum. Even if it's determined that he does have a labrum issue, it's possible Tulo could treat it with rest and rehab and still return this season.
