My life's shadow tries to shrink back
in order not to be seen.
Slip by without being noticed is its dream.
Hide away in an unfamiliar land,
living day-by-day without having to
consider what tests are at hand.
It's time to pull it out of hiding though.
Make it stride boldly forward and see where it will go.
Discover the hidden truths in the dark recesses of my heart and mind.
Seek with honest intent and see what I can find.
Free myself from all restraints.
