标题[文法] would rather 句型的文法结构

句子1:
He would rather stay at the office.
句子2:
He would rather I stayed at the office.
在第一句中：
He为主词
would为助动词
Stay为动词
但在第二句中，
不知是否因为句子中有省略，
句子中没有主要的动词。
（I stayed at the office的stayed似乎比较像是子句的动词）
请问第二句的结构应该要如何分析？
