请教各位先进，
在The Gilded Age镀金年代第3集Face the Music里，
Ada Brook和侄女Marian Brook去听演讲，
遇到Ada Brook的旧识Cornelius Eckhard III。
Ada: I thought it was you.
Cornelius: I'm afraid it's been too many years
for me to call you Ada?
Marian: But this is too touching.
Ada: Oh, not really.
We knew each other
when we were young in Pennsylvania.
请问Marian说的but在这个情镜下是作何解呢？
查了字典几乎都只把but解作转折，
但这里不似转折。
