What (= XXX) was it (that) the guy was saying? h. I caught on to the question (= What was it (that) the guy was saying?). g.+h. →i. I caught on to what it was (that) the guy was saying. 後半部是一个名词子句，但这个名词子句是由疑问句和分裂句转化而来。（晕） --
