标题[单字] clunky在形容opera时是指冗长或生硬?

前辈好,我看书看到一段是在讲菲律宾拳王曼尼帕奎奥参政的:
One day, on the fifth floor corridor in the Senate building,
where de Lima still has her office in Room 526, I bumped into
‘The Destroyer’ as he waited for a lift. Like many of the leading
players in this clunky political soap opera, his office was also on
the fifth floor.
我的理解:
某天在参议院大楼的五楼走廊上,德里玛的办公室就在526室,
我撞见毁灭者(帕奎奥的绰号)在电梯前面等候。
他跟许多【冗长clunky?】政治肥皂剧的主要演员一样,办公室都在五楼。
问题:1. 请问clunky 在这里要理解成什麽意思比较好?
愚蠢?冗长?生硬?
2. 肥皂剧里面的主角办公室都在五楼吗?
看到这边我笑出来,原来美剧也有ptt五楼文化?(还是我孤陋寡闻)
