标题[文法] would will 用法

大家好， 在作答文法题目的时候，我对於以下句子的文法有异议：
Such is his fame that people “will” always remember him.
在填答时我是写 “would”,
请问这使用未来式是因为惯用法的缘故吗？
题中讲述的对象为一个已经过世的运动员
